Who Can Interpret the Bible?

The pope has “established a commission of serious men” to “interpret and explain the Bible.” Just what the exact function of this commission is we do not know, or what the work that will be turned out by them; but we do know that to him whose heart is set to do God’s will the Bible speaks in a language that peasant as well as priest may understand. The Spirit can interpret to the humble, teachable mind that which the learned commission may be unable to elucidate.
