MR. S. W. GAMBLE is a noted advocate of Sunday. By an attempted shifting of the days, and a juggling with texts, he has made some Sunday people to hope that he would confirm his theory. His twisting of Scripture to help his theory seems to have affected his belief of the Bible. A correspondent at Ellsworth, Kansas, writes:—
S. W. Gamble was here August 12 to 15, and lectured in the M. E. Church on the Sabbath question. One remark which he made was, “You can not make any sense out of this Book (holding up the Bible to the view of the audience); I have tried it for thirteen years, and I give it up.” Another was, “Christ has already come the second time, and we are now in the Millennial Age.”
