The Lost Chords of Solomon

The cantor of the Hebrew congregation of Beth Israel, Boston, is reported to have unearthed from ancient manuscripts a number of sacred tunes and airs of ancient Jewish composition, known as “The Lost Chords of Solomon.” These are said to have remained hidden because of the profound learning necessary to translate them. They are said to be of remarkable excellence, and furnish evidence of the high attainments of the ancient Jews in music. The key to the songs consists of accents arranged above the letters of the words.
