British Government Investigates Steamship Trust

The British Government is much concerned over the great steamship trust which proposes to absorb all the large steamship lines of the Atlantic, and possibly of the Pacific as well. The government is planning to make a thorough investigation into the proposition, with the idea of preventing its consummation if it is found to be detrimental to the interests of Great Britain. It is rumored that it is the plan of the promoters to absorb the British companies and sail the ships under the American flag.
