THE GLORY OF THE LORD.

“And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” Isa. 40:5.
THE Lord’s glory is His character. Ex. 33:18, 19.
The Lord proclaimed His character to Moses as “the Lord God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in mercy and truth.” Satan, the enemy of God, has always striven mightily to hide from mankind the glory of the Creator; but God declares it “shall be revealed.”
So He gave His only-begotten Son, and revealed His character in the meek and lowly Man of Galilee, the loving Sympathizer, the gentle Helper, the powerful Redeemer.
And now God “hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ,” that we, who were created for His glory, and who have been redeemed for His glory, may consummate the grand Illumination of heaven, and lighten the land of the enemy with the glory of the great King.
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon THEE.”
W. H. B. MILLER.
