Court-Martial Decision Frees Military Prisoners

On February 10, in the United States Circuit Court of Appeals at St. Louis, Mo., a decision was handed down which will liberate about 200 military prisoners now held in various Federal penitentiaries. The decision holds that officers of the regular army are not legally competent to sit on courts-martial for the trial of officers and soldiers of other forces. The persons affected by this decision are members of the volunteer forces who have been court-martialed by officers of the regular army.
