The Mind and Belief in God

The smaller the mind—the more primitive the brain in which dwells the soul—the greater reluctance to acknowledge God and His goodness. The low savage knows no God, only devils. The ape knows not even devils. The brain must find within itself the inspiration to seek and to find proof of God's existence, wisdom, and kindness. If you declare yourself an atheist, you declare your soul a barren soul, and your mind a fatuous vacuity.—San Francisco Examiner.
