Children Selling the Signs

The teacher of a private school at Bowling Green, Ky., who is taking a club of 25 SIGNS for sale by her pupils, writes on May 20, saying:—
“The children and I were very glad to receive your encouraging letter and help.
“The children learned quickly how to use their receipt books. Last week they obtained twelve monthly subscriptions, and they are going to try very hard to get thirteen more this week.
“I try to impress upon their minds that they are to go forth as representatives of Jesus.”
A postscript adds, “The children have obtained two more subscriptions since I wrote, making fourteen in all.”
This is encouraging. Other schools are doing good work in the same way. Those not so engaged may do well to undertake it.
That the children can successfully engage in the work of selling the SIGNS OF THE TIMES, the above letter clearly indicates. To further encourage the children and older ones to take up this line of missionary work, we give one instance.
Every week, when his health permits, there comes into our office a slender little boy less than nine years old, whose head scarcely reaches the top of our counter. He purchases about 30 copies of the SIGNS, pays for them, and goes out to meet the people on the street and in their homes and sell the papers. He has worked thus for a number of months.
If such small children can sell the SIGNS with success, we are sure others, and older and stronger people, can do the same.
