Havana’s Declining Death Rate

A BULLETIN recently issued by the chief sanitary officer of Havana, Cuba, shows a material decrease in the death rate of that city since the American sanitary officers have been in charge. The death rate for the past year was 23 per 1,000, against 27 per 1,000 for the year previous. The work of the sanitary officers in cleaning up the city has been highly commended.
