Cuba Rejects State Religion

The constitutional convention in Cuba has voted in favor of universal suffrage. It has rejected a proposition that the Roman Catholic should be the State religion. It was decided that the constitution should guarantee freedom of belief and worship to people of all faiths. It seems to have gone a step further, that of freedom to those of no faith, inasmuch as it voted to have no formal recognition of God. And in civil government this is in accord with the Christian idea.
