DO YOUR BEST.

By A. J. Foxwell

Say not the evils around you Can not be overcome; Let not the sight confound you; Let not your voice be dumb. See how the brave have shattered Rocks that have barred their way; Darkness by light is scattered, Night all absorbed by day.
Say not an effort single Is but of little worth; Drops that with others mingle Water the thirsty earth. Let each but do his duty, Fighting against the wrong, Deserts will smile with beauty, Mountains resound with song.
—A. J. Foxwell.
