Pope of Protestantism

“Pope of Protestantism.”—The Elmira (N. Y.) Evening Star of October 24 suggests that Kaiser Wilhelm went to Jerusalem for the purpose of becoming the “pope of Protestantism.” But he will not succeed. The Protestantism which wants a pope will, instead of the emperor of Germany, submit to the one who now sits a prisoner in the vatican.
