The Chief Fiddler.

The New York Journal of October 19 describes an organization of a dancing-school by an “orthodox” clergyman of Jersey City, in which the clergyman acted as floor manager. There are many and devious dances, dances of death, not so called, however, at which the devil is chief fiddler, and into which he blindly leads the half-hearted disciple of Christ. Think of it—a world in sin, souls dying all around, and a church of Christ dancing; its pastor, floor manager! Behind it all is the devil, chief fiddler and manager-in-chief.
