Apple Crop Distressingly Short

The apple crop this year is reported to be distressingly short. The agricultural papers estimate the crop of the country at 27,500,000 barrels, as against 40,000,000 barrels in 1897, and 70,000,000 barrels in 1896. This is unfortunate; for the apple is an excellent fruit.
