WAITING

Has the upward way grown so hard and steep That you long to kneel at the Saviour’s feet, And plead for hope and help and grace, And for a glimpse of His blessed face? Then listen, dear heart, with never a fear; For the still, small voice you will surely hear.
For the overcomers who fight the good fight, There are heavenly mansions and robes of white; There are starry crowns and the victor’s palm; There is music that falls on the heart as balm; There are rainbows and angelic faces fair; And the tree and the river of life are there.
O weary one, will you patiently wait, When you know that soon He will open the gate? Soon the east will glow like countless suns, As He comes to gather His waiting ones; And never again from Him shall we part— O, can not you wait for this, tired heart?
Doris.
