CHRISTIAN GREETING TO THE “SIGNS.”

By Mrs. M. L. O’Reilly

Dear Signs, I send thee Christian greeting. O, speed thy truths across the seas Like doves with precious treasures laden! O, speed thy messages of peace!

The angels watching o’er thee hover, They ward dark angels’ darts away; Their glory with their presence covers As you in patience toil each day.

So speed thy truths from north to south. Heaven’s messages thou dost proclaim. O, send them on from east to west, Those holy thoughts in Jesus’ name!

Then hasten with thy work of mercy; With thy glad tidings swiftly go, Like odors from sweet blossoms rising, Like incense in this vale of wo.
