THOROUGHNESS

· WORK thoroughly done brings the worker its own reward, while anything done at random gives the article an unfinished appearance, and stamps the worker—to say the least—as belonging to the crowd.
Thoroughly good work will never be destroyed or go unrewarded.
If we have a favor to confer, let us not do it grudgingly, but thoroughly. If we give a welcome to any one, do it with a will. If we have wherewith to give, give it with all our might.
What is it that lifts the politician, the dauber of paints, the player, and the singer above his fellows, and turns them into prime ministers, artists, musicians, and prima donnas?—It is thoroughness. Thoroughness is the elder brother of genius, and the stronger of the two. Thoroughness will stand alone when genius requires holding up.—Mrs. St. John Leigh.
