WINTER CAN NOT LAST FOREVER.
By Alice M. Avery-Harper
Tho storm kings ride in fearful blast Through dreary wastes of winter’s snow, Yet spring shall bring sweet buds at last, When warmer winds shall sweetly blow. And tho the world seem dark as night Through chilling mists and blight of tears, Glad spring shall dawn with living light, And chase away all gloomy fears. Altho the raging storms may beat, And angry winds blow fierce at will, Yet gentle spring-time’s sun and heat Shall wake to life each blossom still. Our gracious God shall clothe again With garlands fair the slumb’ring earth, And He will send the sun and rain To gladden nature with new birth. Then, undismayed, trust ye in God, And doubt ye not His guiding care; For He shall be thy sure reward, And thou shalt rest in gardens fair. Mrs. Alice M. Avery-Harper.
