American Edition of the Revised Version
When the Revised Version of the Bible was published in its completed form in 1885, there were a number of renderings that were preferred by the American Committee. These American preferences were published as an appendix to the 1885 edition. It was agreed between the British and American committees that these American renderings should not be incorporated into the text and published in a separate edition until the expiration of fourteen years. The time will be up in 1899, and a contract has been signed with Thos. Nelson & Son, of New York, to bring out this American edition of the Revised Version by the midsummer of next year.
