Duty Over Inclination

WHAT a man wants to do is one thing. What a man ought to do may be a very different thing. It is a man’s duty to do what he ought to do, whether he wants to do it or not. It is the straight line of duty, rather than the bent of his inclination, that a man’s life course should conform to. Following his natural tendencies is about the worst thing a man can do in this world.—S. S. Times.
