CHRIST, THE SATISFIER.

CHRIST is able to answer all the heart’s perplexing questions. From him nothing is hid. Whatever the hard question is which one in faith brings to him, the solution is prompt. Our hardest questions are those which relate to God’s dealings with men. Why does he take away this child, that husband, this mother? Why does he permit the sweeping away of one’s fortune through the neglect or the dishonesty of others? Why are the innocent allowed to suffer for the sins of the guilty? Why does he not interfere for the oppressed, the weak, the helpless? These indeed are hard questions, and when bitterly and defiantly asked, receive no reply; but when filially put, get from him an answer that brings peace to the soul.—Pilgrim Teacher.
