THE HOUR OF TEMPTATION.

By Mrs. E. R. Lewis

BY MRS. E. R. LEWIS.

“Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.” Rev. 3:10.

In the hour of sore temptation, That shall come to try the world, When the fiery darts of Satan At thy waiting ones are hurled,

Keep me, O my Saviour, keep me From the danger of that hour; Let no evil then befall me; Keep thou me from Satan’s power!

Blessed Saviour, thou hast promised, And thy word can never fail; Those who keep thy word of patience, Shall against the foe prevail.

Yes, thy grace is all-sufficient For each faltering, fainting one: Who will heed the Lord’s injunction, “Hold fast, for I quickly come.”
