The Black Death

The fearful “black death,” or plague, which once decimated the great cities of the world, is now raging in that hotbed of all diseases—China. In fact, it is now found in cities from Japan to Malacca. Strict quarantine has been declared in all ports on the Pacific Coast. Remedies increase,—and many are good,—most excellent sanitary laws are passed, but the race is still sick and dying, and it will be until the better day of Christ’s reign of righteousness shall begin. Then “the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick; the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.” Come, blessed day.
