HOLD UP YOUR LIGHT.

BY SARA W. YOUNG.
Hold up your light, father, The way is rough for little feet, And dangerous are the thorns they’ll meet.
Hold up your light, mother, The little ones are apt to stray From virtue’s path, and wisdom’s way.
Hold up your light, sister, There’s some one wandering far from home That waits to hear your bidding, “Come.”
Hold up your light, brother, A friend you love has lost the way, O, do not let him go astray!
Hold up your light, Christian, For trembling souls stand on the brink, And but for you, they’ll fall and sink.
Hold up your light, pilgrim, Some more are walking that same road, And looking for that blest abode. Then, child of heaven, hold up thy light, And forward go in Jesus’ might.
Rurutu, Sabbath, Dec. 1, 1894.
