Maryland Sunday Prosecutions of Adventists Instigated by Protestants

MR. U. P. LONG, of Baltimore, Md., writes us that members of every Seventh-day Adventist Church in Maryland “have been called before the civil magistrate to answer for their faith” in connection with this Sunday question, and that in each case these prosecutions (persecutions) “were instigated not by Catholics, but by Protestants.” He believes that among all the witnesses there was but one Catholic. In Maryland Catholics pose as the champions of religious liberty. We are glad that it is so, and hope the role will be perennial. We can assure them that in religious liberty there is blessing.
