Democratic Party of New York Backs Sunday Law

AND now the Democratic party of New York, in convention assembled, has fallen down before the Sunday image. We told last week how the Republicans of that state demanded the enforcement of the Sunday law “in the interests of morality;” and now the Democratic convention, while declaring for local option, place themselves on record as in favor of a “moderate Sunday law.” Those politicians care no more for the Sunday as a Christian institution than they do for Buddha as the Christian god, but they fear “stabbing at the polls.” The church vote is making hypocrites fast.
