Ecclesiastical Empire

BY ELDER A. T. JONES,
Completes the Empire series of histories, from the time of the flood to the present day.
“ECCLESIASTICAL EMPIRE” is a history of the papacy in the Middle Ages, when she reigned alone. What other histories do not tell is found in this volume. It relates how the papacy gained and held supremacy over the different countries of Europe during the Dark Ages. It prints the edicts and bulls of the Church against those who opposed her nefarious designs. It tells of the relentless persecutions waged against any who would not ally themselves with the papacy, the controversies within the Church, and the wars carried on by rival popes. It is a complete history of the Reformation in the different countries, from the time of its beginning to the time when the different Protestant churches were the ruling powers in the respective governments, with the exception of one country. It describes how that one country, our own nation, finally yields to the assiduous demands of the churches, enters the religious arena, wields a mighty power, and finally exalts the papacy to its former position of grandeur and glory in the earth.
The book is not only instructive, but most entertaining. Has emblematical cover design. Contains 874 pages.
