Apostle of Good Cooking

Miss Juliet Corson, the apostle and teacher of good cooking, it is said, “appears before her classes dressed in black silk, without an apron, and during each lesson cooks several dishes, and yet no spot ever appears on her dress.” That’s nothing. Any tidy housewife can do likewise. It is only the untidy ones who smear themselves with grease and get stove-blacking over their faces, hands, and dresses. We have seen ladies dressed in white cook an entire dinner, and be none the worse in personal appearance when they sat down to partake of their handiwork.—Alameda Encinal.
