Nothing, perhaps, more plainly shows the wide-spread interest beginning to be felt upon the Sunday question in this nation than the fact that at this early day, the subject is greatly agitated, whether or not the Centennial Exhibition shall be opened on Sunday. And the friends of that day are jubilant over the assurance given by Gen. J. R. Hawley, President of the Centennial Committee, that it will not be open on the first day of the week, and that he would resign if it should be voted thus to open it. U. S.
