WHITER THAN SNOW.

By Mrs. C. B. Alton

The original man in God's image created, In sin and pollution had fallen so low, There was no eye to pity, no arm to save him, When a cleansing was offered, whiter than snow, Whiter than snow, whiter than snow, Jesus can cleanse us whiter than snow.
Though the wounds are all deep, and the stains are all dark, And blindness, and palsy, and fullness of woe, Shuts out all the light from the suffering soul, Yet Jesus will cleanse us whiter than snow, Whiter than snow, whiter than snow, Jesus will cleanse us, whiter than snow.
When fiery temptation comes in like a flood, And tells us our safety we never can know, Then the spirit of promise, so loving, so sweet, Whispers, Jesus does cleanse us, whiter than snow, Whiter than snow, whiter than snow, Jesus does cleanse us, whiter than snow.
This great blessed truth we all may possess, And hush unto death each internal foe, For the prayer of the Son hath power to prevail, And keep what is cleansed whiter than snow, Whiter than snow, whiter than snow, Jesus can keep us whiter than snow.
