Cleburne.

OUR meetings in Cleburne began July 6, with about three hundred people present. We have now had three meetings, and the tent has been well filled each time, although a protracted debate is going on, which will occupy four hours each day for fourteen days, and the district court is in session. We are much gratified with the interest we already have.
R. M. KILGORE.

Dallas.

THESE meetings, beginning June 30 and closing July 2, have already been reported; but as they call for gratitude for aid sent to this new field, I should like to add a brief notice. The Lord gave force and power to Eld. Kilgore’s preaching. The brethren were much encouraged. Quite a number came forward for baptism, which was administered on Monday forenoon. The hearts of the southern brethren are true to the cause of God; and they are hearty and sincere in their love of the truth, which they appreciate in a wonderful degree.
Many are interested, and attended this meeting, and others which have been held in the State, and generally a favorable impression has been made.
The population of this State is made up from many localities. The church at Dallas has two members from Sweden; others from Arkansas, Missouri, Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, and other States, so that the influence of the work in Texas will be widely felt: and if it is wholly a good influence, it may accomplish much good.
JOS. CLARKE.
