The Sanctuary.

A WRITER in the Herald of Life, of May 8, 1878, essaying to answer the question, “What is the sanctuary of Dan. 8:13?” commences by saying, “The word sanctuary is used some eighty times in the Bible, and is generally applied to the tabernacle built by Moses.” This is considerably less than half the number of times (202) the Hebrew words mikdash and kodesh, and the Greek word hagion, are applied to the sanctuary, and scarcely more than half the number of times (144) these words are translated sanctuary in the English version. The statement betrays a superficial manner of examining the subject which is not likely to elicit much light upon it.
