WITHHOLDING FROM THE LORD.
A brother writes from Indiana: Having seen the acknowledgments of some of the brethren who have been prompt in paying S. B., I will give a little of my experience in the opposite direction. Two years ago I was in15quite a strait for means. I took the matter to the Lord, promising the profits of a certain field of corn. My prayers were answered beyond all my expectations. When the corn was ready to gather I had no trouble in selling it for $25. (The field was a small one.) Just at that time I had a debt of $28 which was pressing. So I took the Lord’s money and paid the debt. From that day to this I have been losing money and property. I am now trying to sell a horse to cancel my S. B. and other debts to the Lord, but as yet I have not succeeded. I hope I am not like King Saul. I want all who read this to pray for me.
