Is it right to have Christmas trees and festivals? Is there any authority in the Bible for so doing? E. M. W.
ANS. We do not see any necessary connection between Christmas trees and festivals. A church festival, in its common acceptation, is an abomination. We can have a Christmas tree without that. Such trees as were provided in Battle Creek and Oakland, and we trust in many other of our churches, last Christmas, to bear our gifts to some important enterprises in the Lord’s cause, we believe are all right. Is there anything in the Bible against so doing?
M. B. PARRETT: Job 14:12 is explained on the ground that the heavens do pass away at the second coming of Christ. See Rev. 6:14.
