ANOTHER PLAN TO CIRCULATE THE ANNUAL.

It is true that the postal law is favorable to the circulation of reading matter, so that it costs but one cent to send a single copy of the Annual to any part of the United States and the Canadas. Yet this would amount to the handsome sum of $4,000 on 400,000 copies of the Annual.
We suggest a plan that will save a large portion of this sum. It is this: Let the Tract and Missionary librarians, or some live person they may appoint in each church, thoroughly canvass the church, and ascertain the number of copies of the Annual each member will take, pay for, and circulate. These figures can be brought or sent to Battle Creek at the time of the General Conference, when the plan can be perfected to ship them by rail and save the postage, excepting to the most distant parts of the field. This would reduce the cost of the Annual about one-third, and give it a very extensive circulation without burdening the Tract and Missionary societies, which are now badly in debt.
