The “Great Controversy.”
By Editor
A STUDENT from Healdsburg College entered what we believe to be one of the most difficult fields for canvassing in California, with the illustrated “Great Controversy,” and he writes us as follows: “The very first day in my life of trying to canvass, I obtained seven subscribers.” A brother in Seattle, W. T., sold over 300 copies in less than six weeks, at $1.75 each, and this too during the time of the Anti-Chinese trouble and the reign of martial law, when, of course, finances and business were in a very unsettled condition. A farmer in Illinois has taken as high as twenty orders in one day for the “Great Controversy,” while an agent in Montana is taking fifteen orders per day and delivering twelve out of fifteen. A canvasser in New York took twenty-eight orders for the book out of thirty-two persons canvassed. We have reports equally encouraging from agents in the Southern and Middle States. Over ten thousand copies sold by agents in six months. More agents are wanted to handle this work. Liberal commissions paid. Write to the Secretary of your State Tract Society for circulars and terms, or address PACIFIC PRESS, Publishers, Oakland, Cal.
