"THE FALL AND REDEMPTION OF HUMANITY."
By Editor
THIS is the title of a lithographic allegorical picture, illustrating the Bible story of man's creation, his fall, the plan of salvation devised for his rescue, together with representations of the patriarchal, Jewish and Christian systems of religion, and also of the false religious practices of the heathen and unchristian people in various ages since the flood. The picture is also a prophetic chart and presents to the eye the symbolic figures mentioned in the second, seventh, and eighth chapters of Daniel, and the twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, and eighteenth chapters of Revelation. The central figure is the crucified Saviour. In front of the cross, a group of weary, sin-laden, repenting, commandment breakers are seen coming to Christ for pardon. They look unto him by faith, and their burdens of sin fall off, and that faith in Christ is shown by being baptized. Coming up from the watery grave of baptism, clothed with Christ's righteousness which is by faith, they sit at the table of the Lord's Supper, and eat by faith the flesh of the Son of God and drink his blood in the emblems which he himself gave as a memorial of his death. Their pathway is shown as leading along a rugged, precipitous way, surrounded by dangers which call for constant watchfulness and prayer, until finally they reach a point in their pilgrimage where they stand like unto "men who wait for their Lord." The sanctuary in Heaven is represented as being open, and the ark of the covenant is seen therein, overshadowed by the wings of the cherubim, while our great High Priest stands before the ark interceding for fallen man. This picture was designed and published by Dr. M. G. Kellogg, of the Rural Health Retreat, St. Helena, Cal., and is offered for sale at 50 cents per copy. It is arranged that all profits accruing to him from the sale of the first edition shall be used in furnishing the chapel to be erected at the Retreat. The picture is nicely executed, is 22x28 inches in size, and will be sent postpaid, with "explanation," on receipt of price, by Pacific Press Publishing Co., Oakland, Cal.
