The Difference Water Makes

P. T. BARNUM, speaking on intemperance, says: "Two men will start together in life, the one keeping his head cool with water, the other muddling his with liquor. At the end of ten years the former will have achieved success, the latter will be dropping into a drunkard's grave; but just before he drops you'll hear him say: 'Stonishing what a difference 'er is in life! That fellow started same's I did, an' everything I touched turned to ashes. 'Stonishing what a difference 'er is in life!'"
