Churches Seeking Civil Power

Not pleasant lessons are such chapters in the word of God as Ezekiel 23 and Isaiah 30 and 31. The prophets do not use flattering terms in speaking of Israel's spiritual fornication. Forsaking Him and seeking help in Egypt was rebellious; yet those professed Christian churches who are seeking union with the civil power to-day are guilty of the same thing. God has furnished in Jesus Christ a plenitude of blessings, and from His church He demands all. He will not divide His glory with another.
