HE knows the pain and the sorrow, Each trouble thy heart ever knew, But now there is sweet consolation That in Him is joy for you.
Our griefs long ago he carried; The bitter He takes from life's cup; His arm He reaches to save us When we by faith look up.
Look up, then, faltering traveler In the cold and murky night; Tho clouds are hovering o'er thee, Beyond there is beautiful light.
