His government is the government of love. He did not say to men just “obey,” but to all mankind, “My light and I will be your law; do the wrong, and I will be with you.” There are certain principles which underlie all intelligent service. Disobedience to these principles is happiness; disobedience to them is misery, sin, and death. God is infinite; infinite holiness and an infinite law exist. These principles, acting in all, “His way, on duty, then is joy and peace. He will go the way, then is only sorrow and pain.” Yours is the duty of this law to show men to be only love, and God, creation, is its fulfillment.
