Soldiers of God

To Jacob it was said, "Thy name shall be . . . Israel: for as a prince hast thou . . . prevailed." Webster defines "prevail" to mean overcome. The true Israelites, therefore, are overcomers, prevailers, soldiers of God.
A soldier is one who fights for pay. The word "soldier," from solidus, denotes one who receives wages for battling. But not until after the battle does his sovereign bestow the decoration.
We, as soldiers of God, as Israelites, receive our solidus; for as we work for His cause, we are immediately and constantly paid, as no one will deny who has ever attempted to win souls for His kingdom. And after the victory, we too will receive our decoration, the crown, from our King.
