A FRENCH CATHOLIC CHURCH.

A despatch from Paris, January 15, states that a movement is inaugurated to organize a National French Catholic Church. Thus organized, they would accept the Church-and-State separation law enacted by the French Parliament. The leader of this is M. Des Houx, who will publish an appeal to the French Catholics to throw off the yoke of Rome. The nucleus of the new organization will be the cultural associations authorized by law. Archbishop Valatte, head of the strong Catholic movement of Texas, will ordain clergy and bishops elected by the Parisians. The movement will probably not be as extensive as its promoters think. Catholicism is too strong for France to expect a great break.
