The Only Way.

Only one attitude is becoming in the sinner. “The publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast.” Luke 18:13.
Only one prayer can he offer. “God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13. “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Thy loving-kindness.” Ps. 51:1.
Only thru God’s mercy can the sinner ask forgiveness. “According unto the multitude of Thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.” Ps. 51:1, 2.
Only thru confession is sin forgiven. “I acknowledge my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me.” Ps. 51:3. “I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.” Ps. 32:5.
Only the power of God can cleanse from sin. “Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. . . . Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Ps. 51:7, 10.
Only God’s power can keep clean. “Uphold me with Thy free Spirit.” Ps. 51:12. “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to Thy word.” Ps. 119:9. “Now ye are clean thru the word which I have spoken unto you.” John 15:3.
Only a full surrender is acceptable. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise.” Ps. 51:17.
Only one day of salvation is offered. “To-day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your heart.” Ps. 95:7, 8. “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Cor. 6:2.
