Angels and Wings

3208.—Angels and Wings.—A. K.—Angels are represented in nearly all art with wings. The Bible does not speak of them, however, as having wings. It speaks of the cherubim as having wings, and the seraphim; but these may be great bodies of angels, and the wings like the wings of an army. Wings are not the only conceivable method of locomotion through the air or space. We do not know how many things God may have for His creatures apart from the mechanism which is known to man. He may have many different ways by which His messengers may be transmitted from place to place without mechanical devices.
