The Water of Life

I HAVE somewhere seen a picture of the crucified Christ stretched in His mother's arms. From a rock beneath their feet abundant waters flowed into a great cistern, from which men and women of all classes in life were filling vessels with the water and passing them all to each other. A stream flowed from the cistern to a lower place, where little children could reach it, and they were drinking with smiling lips.
This is a beautiful illustration of the salvation of Christ. It is for all, rich and poor, high and low, bond and free, young and old. Jesus said, "He that believeth on Me shall never thirst."
