THE great destroyer must be destroyed. If it is not, it will destroy us. Weighed in the balance of cold, hard facts, this historic curse, criminal of the ages, stands guilty of undermining the economic prosperity of the nation; guilty of blighting our liberties and free institutions; guilty of slaughtering, killing, and wounding our citizens; guilty of blighting the progeny of the nation, flooding the land with a horde of degenerates; guilty of striking deadly blows at the life of the nation itself, and at the life of the race; guilty of reversing the processes of evolution and the purposes of the Almighty. —Senator Richmond P.
