A Plea for Labor in Troy
By Rufus N. Chaffee
Bro. Smith: My heart rejoiced when I heard that Bro. Cornell had been invited to labor this fall and winter in Ohio. My prayer is that the Lord will send him to Troy, Geauga Co., about thirty miles south-east of Cleveland. There appears to be a desire to hear a reason of our faith. There are some here that are convicted of the Sabbath, but do not feel the importance of keeping it. It is my conviction that if the Word could be preached here, a few of God's people would come out of Babylon. The tracts that I brought here, I have endeavored to give to those that I thought would read them with interest, hoping that some might be led to the knowledge of the truth. Brethren and sisters, pray for me and mine, that we may be sustained in the trying time. If any of you should come this way, call on us without fail. Your unworthy brother in the Lord.
