I. C. VAUGHAN

Fell asleep in Jesus in the town of Ovid, Clinton Co., Mich., Nov. 4th, 1859, sister Lydia M. Doty, aged 22 years. Her disease was consumption. Sister Lydia was one of the first that embraced the present truth in Hillsdale, in August, 1857, under the labors of Brn. Cornell and Waggoner. About two years ago she moved to Clinton Co., where she suffered many inconveniences in trying to live the truth; but still her daily walk and conversation gave strong evidence to those around her of her love of the present truth, and her hope of eternal life. Just before she died she was deprived of her speech. It was observed that she wanted to make known something, and when, after a number of questions, she was asked if she wanted to tell her husband to be faithful in keeping the commandments, she bowed her head, and in a few moments fell asleep.
