UNIVERSALISM.

H. Ballou, of the Universalist denomination, mourns over the great fecundity of Universalism. "It has hatched out," he says, "a brood of ministerial mesmerists, biologists, fourierists, and Necromancers;" and in conclusion, he asserts that we (the Universalists) must put a stop to this fecundity, or it will put a stop to us."
"Would it not be wise," says the Calendar, "for the intelligent portion of this denomination to look into this matter, and ascertain the cause of such effects? If such witness is true (and we have no reason to doubt it), then something must be wrong in the system. A higher wisdom has said, 'By their fruits ye shall know them.'"
